Discovering 5 Spice

5 Spice is a newly opened restaurant that is situated at M.L. Quezon National Highway cor. Skina, Datag, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City. 5 Spice serves American-Chinese Cuisine with a lot of dishes and choices to choose from and is headed by Chef Ric Ramos who has been in the food industry for several years. In 5 Spice, you wouldn’t need to worry about your budget as their foods are all very affordable and a good value for money.

Getting to 5 Spice Restaurant

5 Spice is a bit far from Cebu City and it would take you maybe an hour to get there depending on the traffic. But this is not something to worry about as the ride going to 5 Spice is surely worth it! So now, how do you get to 5 Spice?

BY CAR. If you’re bringing your own car, you can use Google Maps or Waze to get to the area. In case 5 Spice isn’t showing, you can pin San Miguel Plaza in Maribago. The building across San Miguel Plaza is where you can find 5 Spice. Parking slots are also available for dining customers.

BY TAXI. Hailing a taxi in Cebu is not a big problem as they can be found almost everywhere. Just tell the driver that you are headed to San Miguel Plaza, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City. When you get there, just simply cross the roads and you’ll see the big signage of 5 Spice Restaurant.

BY GRAB. If you’re not confident in going there via taxi, you could simply book a Grabcar as well. This could be the most convenient way for you to get here. In the event you book via Grab, you could simply pin San Miguel Plaza, Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City for your drop-off location. Cross the roads and head over to 5 Spice.

BY BEEP OR MINIBUS. This would be the cheapest option of all. Head over to Parkmall in Mandaue and look for the jeep terminal. In there, ask the drivers where the minibus or beep heading to Maribago is. They are color white so they are easy to find too. Let the driver know to drop you off at San Miguel Plaza in Maribago. The fare is Php37.00.

Gastronomic Adventure at 5 Spice

5 Spice can cater to many customers with their space. It is big, spacious, cozy, and has that really bright lighting. The interior of the restaurant is minimalist and neat where you could also easily take photos aside from having a place to catch up with friends.

As mentioned earlier, in 5 Spice you won’t run out of options. There is a wide variety of menus that you can choose from that starts at Php128 only. If you’re coming alone, there are also solo and value meals that you could enjoy. Or if you’re coming with your family and group of friends, food platters can also be availed.

Fish Tausi. If you’re not into pork or chicken, this Fish Tausi could be for you. It’s tasty and has that perfect balance of flavor. Not too salty, not too bland. This is one of the Chef’s Specials and you could also enjoy it with their fried rice at Php 148 (Solo Meal).

Sweet and Sour Pork. 5 Spice’s Sweet and Sour Pork can be availed on Solo Meals and as a Salo Salo Family Meal. This is one of the best Sweet and Sour Pork dishes that we have tried here in Cebu. The pork is tender, soft, juicy, and blends well with the flavor.

5 Spice Chicken. If you’re heading to 5 Spice, you shouldn’t miss out on this specialty. This dish was pretty new to me and my friends when we visited the restaurant. It has a nutty flavor which was unique and is topped with some nuts.

Orange Chicken. Simply the best! I could definitely say that this is the most delicious and tastiest orange chicken I’ve tried up to date. It has that citrus flavor that blends well with the chicken that would make you want to eat and savor it more. Perfect to pair with 5 Spice Fried Rice. Highly recommended!

BBQ Pork Pancit. No words can explain how good their Pancit Canton is! If you think you have already tried a really good one in Cebu, this one could be a game-changer. Super tasty! I even brought some at home and even people from our home said the same too. Highly recommended!

If you just want to chill as well over bottles of beer, you could opt-in to try their pulutan dishes. You could either choose from Crab Rangoon or Crispy Lumpia. Or why not have both?

Overall Experience

Overall experience was pretty good! We just love how affordable their dishes are in 5 Spice. With the affordable prices they are offering, the dishes they serve also comes in a big and generous serving. The staff are also very friendly and attends to all your concerns.

When we went there, we also got the chance to meet the man behind these superb dishes, Chef Ric Ramos. Indeed a great experience and a great time talking with him as well. You might as well say hi when you see him there.
