I have always had this emotional relation with blogging as it has been one of my routines way back when everything was still normal. And with the pandemic that has been running for quite some time now, I must say that blogging now and before for me has been challenging and quite different. It’s simply because I blog based on my outdoor lifestyle. And as we know, we haven’t been going out because our safety should be the priority. So how does blogging worked for me in these times of COVID-19 crisis?

Blogging in the time of a Pandemic

If you could still recall, COVID-19 started to buzz around the mid to the end of March. This means that we only got the first three months of this year to have enjoyed and been outside of our roofs. After that tragic event should I say, a lot of events, jobs, and businesses have been affected in small and big ways. With the stay-at-home protocols that have been imposed by the government, I’m pretty sure that many of us have been challenged as to how things would go.

Chibuano Kini focuses on my lifestyle as a content creator. And as someone who does write about food, travel, events, and personal stuff that mostly happens outside my home, it was a bit complicated. But with the aid of the people who support and surround me, blogging in the time of pandemic was made possible.

Road to Best Cebu Blogs Awards 2020

Since the extension of home quarantine, I have kept myself productive through writing. And I always make it to the point that these topics can let my readers still learn amidst the uncertainties going on. From quarantine food favorites up to fitness blogs, I made it sure to serve the content my ka-Chibuanos would surely love.

But never did I know that because of my weekly blogging, something good will again happen. And tada! History repeats itself, we made it to Best Cebu Blogs Awards under the Personal Category once more! This is my second year of blogging now and the second time that we become a finalist. I couldn’t be more proud and grateful to all my ka-Chibuanos who got our name to be on top of the list again. Para ato ni mga ka-Chibuanos!

Best Cebu Blogs Awards

The Best Cebu Blogs Awards (BCBA) is an annual Awarding Ceremony of Cebu-based Bloggers. It is the only and pioneering award-giving body that recognizes the existence of blogs, bloggers, and social media influencers or movers in Cebu’s blogosphere. It acknowledges the existence and importance of Cebu Bloggers in the Visayas and in the Philippines. BCBA aims to recognize the finest blogs by Cebuanos and Cebu-based bloggers which are at par even with their foreign counterparts.

Best Cebu Blogs Awards is organized and handled by Blogger Volunteers headed by Cebu Bloggers Society Inc. Founder Mark M. Monta. Judges for the Best Cebu Blogs Awards By Niches are changing every year. Most of them came from Manila, Cagayan De Oro, Ilo-ilo, General Santos, Davao, and of course, a home-based judge here in Cebu.

It’s less than 2 months from the date this blog will be published until we know who gets this and who gets that. But one thing for sure, we’re already winners the moment we stepped into the final list. And if you’re reading this right now, who knows? You might be the next big thing to happen. If you’re still planning to start one for yourself, don’t worry it’s not too late. Feel free to message me on Instagram if you need some tips and I’ll see you there 😉

This event would also not be complete if not because of our sponsors.

  1. Congratulations on your second time as a finalist for that category! I really admired your effort to write blogs even if we cannot go out for events and travel content. Hoping that you win this category for this year’s BCBA. There are so many opportunities waiting for you once this pandemic finally over! Good job! 😉 😉 😉 😉 😉

  2. Congrats, Marco! You truly deserve where you are now. You always give away a part of yourself in every blog you write and through this, you inspire people reading your blog. Again, congratulations!

  3. Congratulations Marco!! I am rooting for you. I really hope you’ll get this award because you really are an amazing blogger and you’re a very great friend too. So we both know I am a bit biased. Hahaha.
