It just suddenly happened in many countries in an instant. Who would have known that a virus named Corona Virus which started from China would reach our country? A virus that has been now a pandemic that doesn’t have a certain cure yet. In short, Corona Virus, COVID-19 for short, has started to infect many individuals now across the globe. I’m pretty sure that you have already heard about COVID-19. There’s no way that you haven’t yet since it’s been circulating in many news outlets already.
How Does COVID-19 Spread?
Based on many news that I have heard, the virus is thought to be spread mainly from person-to-person. This means it may spread between people who are in close contact with one another within about 6 feet, or through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.
Reports also say that it may be possible for someone to get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object with the virus on it, and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. The scary part too is that COVID-19 may be spread by people who are asymptomatic. COVID-19 don’t choose anyone. Everyone is a potential target of this virus.
Healthy Practices to Protect Yourself from COVID-19
As this pandemic has started now to infect some of our Filipino citizens, we must maximize what we can do to help stop the spread of this virus. But how? In many simple ways, there are things that we can help contribute to the society which I listed below.
Making these small adjustments will go a long way toward helping you avoid a number of common illnesses, not just coronavirus.
If you have symptoms that match those of COVID-19 such as cough, shortness of breath, fever, and relevant travel history or close contact with a patient with a confirmed case, you should seek assistance as soon as possible. It’s better to be safe than never.
Stay at Home!
The best way to get yourselves safe from acquiring the virus is simply by staying at home. Search for things to be done to entertain yourself if you don’t have anything to do. Get productive! You can also do some home workouts that you can find on Youtube. At least we’ll have that quarantine glow when everything is back to normal.😉😉
