Alongside time passing by, a lot of new changes have already happened in our tradition as Filipinos most especially to the new wave of consumers said to be the millennials. I remember back when I was in 3rd year high school, it was the first time that I heard about “milk tea” but never had the chance to try it since I study in a province and not in a city where milk tea stores have started popping up everywhere.

On my late elementary to high school days, the only popular drinks that were familiar to me and my group of friends are butong (coconut juice), sago’t gulaman, flavored and fresh fruit shakes. I don’t know if halo-halo and mais con yelo also count but I loved them too!

It was around 2013 when I started going to college that I tried milk tea. I’m not really sure as to which shop I first tried one but one thing for sure that marked my first experience with milk tea was, it was not good. It might be because of the choice of flavor that I ordered during that time but unfortunately, after that one, I stopped buying milk tea for the meantime.

Lately, of 2017, I started trying different milk tea to find a favorite one that I can go back to from time to time until I found this milk tea store around January of 2018 which got me and my curiosity. Just by the name itself, Hebrews Shebrews, a mystery was created as to how their milk tea would taste like since their tagline was Milk tea with a twist. The thought of it makes me ponder. Would it be something different from the common ones?  What’s the twist all about?

Discovering Hebrews Shebrews

Hebrews Shebrews started brewing and opened its doors to the public on their first official branch in Sugbo Mercado last 2018. They grew audiences around Cebu from their first branch and captured the hearts of their customers. They continue to brew their tea daily and serve their customer the best quality of fresh and healthy tea with their natural ingredients that would make you come back for more.

That does not stop there! After making their 1st branch a success, Hebrews Shebrews took it up to the next level by launching new branches across the city:

  • The Market by Sugbo Mercado
  • Sugbo Mercado in Lapu-Lapu
  • Rustans Supermarket Banawa
  • SM City Cebu (their latest branch which just opened last June 28, 2019 at the 3rd Floor of SM City Cebu in between Manila Foodshoppe and Skin Station)

Store 2

Hebrews Shebrews do have a lot of good flavors that you would surely love like I do. They do have several options for add ons too that you can choose from as well! And it’s just a matter of discovering and choosing the right add ons to your base flavor of milk tea that would make your experience a good one!

I do have a lot of favorites when it comes to their milk tea, more reasons why I keep on coming back and have my weekly dose of milk tea from them. If ever you are reading this blog, I would be giving my best picks to help you decide which and what are the good milk tea combinations that you can grab from Hebrews Shebrews that you’ll surely enjoy, may it be your 1st or nth experience with them.

Hebrews Shebrews Personal Favorites

Please take not that we might have different taste buds with milk tea and again, these are just some of “my” favorites that you can choose from.

Hebrews Shebrews’ taste is just so natural since they don’t add sugar on their milk tea. In fact, that is one of the reasons why they differ their name to other brands that you can find around Cebu. Also, there are still a lot of options that you can choose from aside from those that I have suggested too anyway.

As for me, it would always be their Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea paired with egg pudding that keeps on making me come back for more. It tastes so good! I just don’t know why but it is indeed a taste that brings me back to a younger me. If you would also want to explore for more flavors, you could take a look at their menu that is attached below and the best sellers that they also recommend to everyone.

Other ways to order

Hassle no more since Hebrews Shebrews could also be ordered through GrabFood and Food Panda if you don’t feel like going out and if you are craving to sip a milk tea so soon. Might as well, if you do have the time, check out their cute branches around Cebu. They do have several branches now which are very accessible around the city.

  1. I started drinking milk tea way back 2014 . Until now I am a avid fan of milk tea. My first Hebrews Shebrews experience was last year at The Market by Sugbo Mercado in Mandaue. It was great that Hebrews Shebrews are expanding now in SM City Cebu. It is easy for me to grab their milk tea before I go home. I love your blog ! Super informative and I can relate to your story. I really missed my old favorites like butong, sago gulaman and taho. I am hoping HS will add some Filipino inspired drinks on their menu.

Looking forward to your posts, Marco! Great job! 🙂 🙂 🙂
